Hi

I was working on Saturday from about 7:30-4:00. Somebody was working later in the day - 2:45 or so and turned on the radio / stereo so loud I could here clearly someone's light jazz.

I tried calling no answer. . .buzzing and no one answered - tried calling again. . . .then was so annoyed I tried buzzing again.

The last time it took leaning on the buzzer for a couple of minutes before someone answered. They couldn't hear the buzzer over the stereo. I snarled at whoever was working on Saturday. [ed note: over the intercom she said "I didnt come to work on a Saturday to listen to smooth jazz!"]

Sorry if I got cranky but Saturday is my quiet time at the office.

Mrs. X, sorry to disrupt your Saturday, Im the "light jazz" offender. I was actually recording guitar parts in our recording studio and didnt realize that my sound would bleed through the floor, or that there might be someone trying to work downstairs. I was playing with headphones on and thats why I didnt hear you for so long.

I turned it way down but continued to play after answering the door, could you hear it then? hope not. I'll be working on this project evenings and weekends all month so will have to do it without disrupting anyone at XYZ.

But did you have to call it "light jazz?" OUCH! that is so below the belt. Actually, I've told all my musician friends the story and they think it's a riot that you said that.

Hi Cal

Thanks for replying to my crankiness. I didn't hear the music after you turned it down. We have open ceilings with only the sub-floor and carpet upstairs separating it from XYZ. Our management team usually works until about 8:00 at night. . .Monday through Thursday with occasional Saturdays. I usually work one Saturday a month. You can always call me xxx-xxxx (say on Friday's) and check. I will generally know who is in an who is not.

I plead age as to calling it "light jazz" - being old enough that my kids listen to Sting - I'm used to traditional jazz. . .any thing else to me is "light".

Thanks

'Mrs. X'

Amen to trad jazz. You've just earned yourself a copy of the album when it's done. You can give it to your kids if you don't like it.
